AAbhiruchi Balaga to partner with Arogyanandana: A new platform for health education

Mysuru:Abhiruchi Balaga of Mysuru, is a new platform for Health education and sharing individual experiences. Abhiruchi Balaga was inaugurated in Mysore, on 15-8-2019 and this group’s aim is, to create a new platform for different arts and artists, it also intends to spread the message of “Health for all” through health education programmes. In partnership with Media Icon, (publishers of monthly Health magazines –Vydyaloka and Health Vision) and Arogya Nandana – a project for health education, Abhiruchi Balaga proposes to conduct several such programmers in Mysuru and around.

Monthly programmes of Abhiruchi Balaga will give an opportunity to share experiences of patients and their family members. Apart from the public education care and treatment of patients, importance of organ donation, eye donation, blood donation and counseling is also a part of the initiative. An effort to create awareness against smoking, alcoholism, tobacco and drugs, is another aim of this group.

In this background Abhiruchi Balaga had arranged Kala – kavya -sangama on 22-9-2019 in supreme convent Mysuru with the support of Belaku a social and literary association. Abhiruchi Balaga felicitated 25 great personalities in different fields, for their excellent contribution. Out of these three personalities represented Health sector.

  • Roopa Sheshadri an Interventional Neuro-Radiologist: Brain, Spain and stroke Specialist; Neuro Imaging Specialist, J.S.S Hospital, Mysuru, who has earned a very good name in national and International levels, was honoured on that day. She spoke on brain haemorrhage and its treatment. She also replied to a number of queries by the audience.
  • V Ramesh, a retired programme executive of Akashavani, who has written 20 drams on health issues such as AIDS, Maleria, Leprosy, Tobacco addiction, Drug addiction and has conducted more than 5000 shows of these dramas in rural areas. In addition to writing, he has acted in and directed these dramas. He has written more than 100 poems on healthy life, care of eyes, water, protecting environment, sanitation, blood donation and stopping open field release of night soil. He is writing health columns in Vydyaloka and Health Vision from last 5 years, under the title, not from the doctor but from the pen of an actor.

 

  • Dr ShriKrishna Mailengi, managing editor of Vydyaloka and Health Vision, was felicitated for his achievements in the field of health media. His marathon effort for bringing out a health magazine in Kannada was very much appreciated. On this occasion in his speech, Dr. Srikrishna elucidated about his efforts in this field.

Honorary president Maddikere Gopal, President Kalihundi Shivakumar, vice president Dr. Leela Prakash, Secretary V. Govindachari of Abhiruchi Balaga,   Mahantappa metigouda and Annappa Gowda from Belaku Institution, promised their full support. Dr. Ravindra Swamy chairman of supreme school promised to organize health programmes for students of his 5 schools, in Mysore, Mandya and Hasan including residential school. N.V Ramesh General Secretary of Abhiruchi group is appealing to all readers, interested Doctors and hospitals, Donators, N.G.O’s to join hands with Abhiruchi group and Arogya Nandana project in this   yeomen service.
