State-Level “Vydyaloka Cartoon and Photography Competitions – 2026” to Promote Health Awareness
Bengaluru: With the objective of creating greater health awareness among the public through creative expression, the Karnataka Arogya Sahitya Parishat and Bengaluru Health Foundation are jointly organizing the State-Level Vydyaloka Cartoon Competition and Photography Competition – 2026. Vydyaloka Health Monthly Magazine and Media Icon are supporting the competitions.
Objective of the Competitions
The competitions aim to communicate important health messages to society in a creative and impactful manner through cartoons and photographs. Participants can highlight themes such as healthy lifestyles, cleanliness and sanitation, pollution control, the harmful effects of smoking and alcohol consumption, yoga and exercise, nutritious food, public health services, and the ground realities of hospitals and healthcare.
Who Can Participate?
Cartoon Competition:
All cartoonists, doctors, healthcare professionals, medical and paramedical students.
Photography Competition:
Photographers, doctors, healthcare professionals, medical students and amateur photographers.
Major Themes
Participants may choose subjects including:
• Health problems and diseases
• Environmental health
• Cleanliness and sanitation
• Yoga and exercise
• Healthy and nutritious food
• Awareness against smoking, alcohol and substance abuse
• Health awareness programmes
• Hospitals and the services of healthcare workers
• Any other creative subject related to health and public awareness
General Rules
• Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 entries in each competition.
• All cartoons and photographs must be original works created/taken by the participant and must not have been published previously.
• Cartoons should be in A4/A3 size at 300 DPI. Photographs should be submitted in high-quality JPEG/PNG format.
• A 2–3 line description explaining the theme/message of each entry is mandatory.
• Participants must provide their name, complete address, mobile number and passport-size photograph.
• All cartoons and photographs must be submitted only through email.
Prizes
Each competition will have First, Second and Third Prizes, along with two Consolation Prizes.
Winners will be honoured with prizes, awards and certificates. All selected cartoons and photographs will be considered for publication in Vydyaloka, one of Karnataka’s leading health magazines.
