In 2018, 1.16 million new cancer cases and 7,84,800 cancer deaths were witnessed in India. Sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical activity, obesity and ignorance are increasing the incidence of cancer among the young generation. Lack of awareness and ignorance are playing a major role as it leads to delayed treatment and the fatality is rising every year.”

Commenting on the free screening Col Hemraj Singh Parmar, Group CEO, BR Life said,“Prevention and early detection is the key in cancer treatment. Therefore, we collaborated with Sankalpa to provide free screening for the pourakarmikas. We want to create awareness among people about cancer through this walkathon and the causes and ways to prevent them. This is a good platform to educate people about the ill effects of alcohol consumption and tobacco usage.”
