corona.Corona viruses are named for the crown-like spikes on their surface. There are four main sub-groupings of corona viruses, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Corona virus earlier also became a global concern in 2003, in form of SARS(severe acute respiratory syndrome) and in December 2019 its new strain has come up as  “ novel corona virus disease”  (nCoV).

This virus can infect to all age groups but senior citizens remains at risk of its more severe form. It behave s like normal viral illness except for the fact that it is many times more communicable than other viral diseases. Till 18th march 2020 India has 155 positive cases for COVID and three deaths, all were elderly. More than 80 percent infected persons present with running fever and cough with or without running nose.

As its very difficult to differentiate COVID 19 (Corona virus disease 2019) patients from other viral sickness, hence it is advisable to avoid getting exposed to any such person either directly or indirectly. There is currently no vaccine to prevent corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) but is undergoing trial. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
  • These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

To prevent corona illness avoid being exposed to this virus. So together we can defeat this global issue by understanding the ways by which its further transmission can be prevented.

1.Avoid gatherings and crowded places like public lifts , non-urgent meetings and get lots of fresh air and sun.

2.Eat healthy diet, rich in calories and proteins with plenty of water .

3.Frequent hand washing or sanitizing your hand before eating or touching your face (If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry).

4.Maintain at least three to four hand distance (two metre) from any person with cold , cough  or fever with cold.

5.Avoid handshakes.

6.Use surgical masks or N95 or N99 to cover your nose and mouth only when you are sick or while visiting a sick person .

7.While sneezing or coughing, use tissue paper or your flexed right hand to cover your nose and mouth, make sure to dispose those tissues in trash .

8.Avoid visiting to cities or places where the disease is more widespread.

9.visit hospitals with great precautions like masking face, maintaining distance with other patients, avoiding to touch railing handles, walls , door knobs unwillingly and needlessly.

10.Please do not panic and visit to nearest physician whenever you feel sick.
