Meditation statue of Falun Dafa at flower show held at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, attracted people’s attention.
Bengaluru: Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) is a high-level spiritual practice of mind and body. Falun Dafa Practitioners from Bangalore participated in the Flower Show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden from 5th to 15th August 2023. Held annually, this flower show is very popular in Bangalore and is visited by over one million people.
The highlight of this year was the flower-adorned meditation statue made by Tatyana, a Russian Falun Dafa practitioner living in Pondicherry. Decorated with beautiful yellow and white flowers, the meditation statue conveying the message of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, the core principles of Falun Dafa. Many children and youth were seen posing for selfies in front of the statue.
Falun Dafa consists of five gentle and effective exercises, but stress is given on cultivation of moral character. It was introduced to public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi in China. Today it is being practiced in more than 100 countries around the world. Unfortunately, practitioners of Falun Dafa are under brutal persecution in China by the Chinese communist party.
Falun Dafa practitioners organized an informative stall with display of books and provision for teaching exercises. On this occasion, the practitioners distributed information flyers among the people. Visitors learned about the system and performed the exercises with the practitioners. People were also informed about the persecution being suffered by Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Hema Narasimhan, a tutor from Bangalore, came to Falun Dafa booth after spotting the meditation statue from a distance, she revealed, “I was so drawn to the music and the statue that I had to come and talk to you all about it.” Engaging in a conversation that spanned 20 minutes, she delved into understanding the practice and its principles. Before departing, Hema obtained contact details for future practice sessions, demonstrating her eagerness to further explore Falun Dafa.
Amul Vaishu, an employee of Shishu Griha Senior School, performed the Falun Dafa exercises and immediately sensed their beneficial impact. He wrote a review appreciating the remarkable nature of Falun Dafa and its potential as a health-enhancing pursuit.
Ms. Kusuma, the Deputy Director of Lal Bagh, along with her team, visited the booth and lauded the practitioners for their dedicated endeavors in promoting the values of ‘Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance’.
