Fitness and healthcare trends you have to adapt in upcoming yearsIt’s been almost five months since Coronavirus first hit worldwide headlines and the situation is not going to get better anytime soon. The COVID-19 crisis has hit fitness companies around the world hard. Shortly before governments imposed drastic limitations on the lifestyle of the people to avoid the spread of the virus, gyms and fitness firms declared a temporary and now indefinite shutdown.

When gyms will reopen, many are going to implement strict measures or policies that will protect the gym members and will ensure that the gym is a safe and hygienic place to work out and now even we have to be a little more cautious about everything around us.  We also have to familiarize ourselves with the latest developments as well as keep in mind all the precautions that need to be taken care of.

Fitness takes on a whole new meaning right now, particularly when we are all limited to much smaller spaces than we are used to. Now, we are seeing much more inventive ways of making sure people get their wellness fix at home as there are no other options left. Here are some fitness and healthcare trends you will have to adapt in the upcoming years and get prepared for the new normal of fitness:

1. Mental Well-Being

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. There is a strong link between mental and physical health and the balance in favor of one over the other should be lined. Your body and mind should not be considered different but they are usually. There’s a strong distinction between the two. But the truth is, that poor physical health can lead to increased mental health risks just as poor mental health can result in decreasing physical health. When we talk about mental well-being, it is important to understand that it is not about the absence of negative thoughts and feelings.

It is normal to face difficult and challenging situations that cause us to feel angry, sad, overwhelmed, and every other emotion. Instead, it is about being able to understand and manage these emotions and feelings, so that you live and work more productively without hampering your mental health. Therefore, to have mental well-being it is important to adapt to good habits and focus on being productive and at the same time not exhausting yourself.

2. Virtual Training

Why is Fitness ImportantThe whole concept of fitness training has changed due to the pandemic. With all outdoor activities restricted at the moment due to the lockdown, the virtual fitness training classes are booming and there are no excuses for people not working out even if they cannot hit the gym. Virtual workouts are ideal for getting a good sweat session without leaving your house and a great way to work out as gyms are still closed. The best part about virtual training is that it allows you to exercise at any time of the day, which is quite beneficial for people who work for long hours or for the ones who do not have a timetable.

A normal workout at the gym would have a mix of high-intensity workouts using high-defined equipment. But now these workout sessions have transformed into virtual training. Virtual training can be done with minimum resources, all you need is a yoga mat and you are good to go! Different apps like Zoom, Google-Meet are used to conduct this virtual training.

3. HIIT – High-intensity interval training:

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) has revealed to be the most common and popular fitness trend during the lockdown as the most common fitness trend. HIIT sessions are usually relatively short, it takes about 20-30 minutes, but it requires a lot of hard work, energy, and discipline consistently. Most of us are in a habit of daily walks or runs while some people prefer working out by watching exercise videos online to keep their body working. But because of the limited space or having no equipment, the hardest part of working out is achieving the real and desired intensity. This is where HIIT is beneficial. It is not much time consuming and it also has numerous benefits for the body like it helps to improve your stamina, endurance and also helps to reduce body fat.

4.yoga for  Mental Well-Being and immunity

yoga

For ages, yoga has been considered to be helpful, not just for weight loss but also to keep the mind relaxed. Yoga is ideally adapted for this quarantine period, being one of the best forms of physical, mental, and spiritual practice. It has become the most commonly practiced form of exercise during the lockdown. Yoga can be viewed as an all-round exercise along with breathing and meditation which will take care of our body, mind, and soul.

The yoga madness that wrapped the globe a few years ago suddenly witnessed a shift in these COVID-19 times. Today, in a world where an unseen force prevents us from stepping out of our homes yoga is seen as a form of mind-body power. People have started conducting Yoga sessions over the zoom calls. Yoga and meditation practice boosts immunity working at many levels thus it could be seen as an emerging fitness trend in the upcoming years.
