Falun Dafa Practitioners Gain Support at Bengaluru event

Falun Dafa Practitioners Gain Support at Major Newspaper’s Event held at Bengaluru recently. Attendees at Happy Streets found themselves drawn to the Falun Dafa booth, stopping to ask about the exercises, the energy mechanisms, and the benefits of the practice.

Bengaluru: At 6 a.m. on March 19, 2023, the 10th Main Road in Jayangar was already congested with traffic——foot traffic. Over 1,000 Bangaloreans had gathered in a vehicle-free stretch of the road to enjoy the morning sun at Happy Streets, a weekly event hosted by the Times of India that encouraged Indians to “reclaim the streets” with outdoor activities.

Among the sea of booths that promoted high-energy fitness activities like Zumba, skateboarding, HIIT, and trampoline, the golden yellow booth of the local Falun Dafa practitioners stood in stark contrast. The exercises done at this booth were gentle, slow, and smooth, and were accompanied by calming music.

Attendees at Happy Streets found themselves drawn to the Falun Dafa booth, stopping to ask about the exercises, the energy mechanisms, and the benefits of the practice. Many of them even gave the exercises a try themselves.

Bangaloreans Experience the Exercises – Falun Dafa Practitioners Gain Support

As the attendees milled around the booth, practitioners running the booth would cluster attendees into small groups to instruct them in the exercises. A group of women got to partake in learning the standing exercises of Falun Dafa. Another cluster of people sat down for the fifth exercise–the seated meditation. While some practitioners taught, others stood by to answer questions for any other passers-by who were curious about the practice and distribute flyers.

Several parents also stopped by the booth and asked if their children could try the meditation. A common concern they shared was that their children’s lives were now filled with too many distractions, like social media and computer games, and they were afraid of the harm that these would bring to their children. They hoped that something like meditation will help them calm down.

The practitioners at the booth encouraged the parents to try out the exercises as well, since children might be more interested in doing something that their parents were also doing. Like this, many child-parent pairs began to learn the exercises as well.
