Most people who fall sick with this infectious disease will experience some of the following diagnostic symptoms: Sour throat, fever, respiratory symptoms like  dyspnoea (breathing difficulty), shortness of breath, cold, dry cough, running nose, throat pain, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, gastro-intestinal upset, diarrhoea, heart related symptoms – inflammation of heart tissue, chest pain, some time heart attack, nerves around the face are affected and cause alteration in taste & smell, skin changes and body ache.

We should boost immunity naturally:

To prevent the infection from such viruses we should boost our immunity naturally. Here are few tips which will enhance your immune system

1. Drink hot water whenever possible.

2. Maintain proper sleep timings.

3. Every day morning heat up your body by exposing to sunlight for 10 to 15 minutes.

4. Avoid eating oily foods.

5. Eating one amla/Indian gooseberry is equal to eating 20 oranges, which is rich in Vitamin C.

6. Include seasonal fruits on daily basis.

7. Keep a slice of lemon in drinking water bottle and drink this water whenever you feel thirsty.

Home remedies for cold & cough related issues :

1. One should eat at least one amla a day. It will keep infections away and accelerates immune system. Amla can be consumed in different forms like pickle, candy, juice or raw.

2.Drink milk with turmeric every day before going to bed. Turmeric is a natural anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial property and also it will shield our body from infectious microbes.

Ingredients –Turmeric – 1/2 tsp, Hot milk – 1 glass, Jaggery – 1 tsp

Method of preparation: Boil one glass of milk. Later add turmeric & jiggery to a glass containing boiled milk.

3. Drink a home made herbal tea made up of ginger, turmeric, tulasi and pepper. All these ingredients are having high antioxidant activity, act against foreign bodies in our body by improving immune function and will aid in fighting off colds and flu.

Ingredients –Chopped Ginger – 1tsp, Crushed Tulasi leaves – 7 to 8, Turmeric – 1/4th tsp, Crushed black Pepper – 3 to 4

Method of preparation:

a. Boil one glass of water in a pan at medium flame.

b. Later add chopped ginger, turmeric, crushed pepper, crushed Tulasi leaves into pan and cover it with lid and continue boiling.

c. The boiling process should be for 10 to 15 minutes or till it become one fourth of the glass.

d. Later strain the boiled water in a glass and let it be in warm condition, to this add one tea spoon of honey & few drops of lemon juice (at warm stage).

e. Drink this water every day in the morning
