Bay leaf : A simple soothing bay leaf tea to boost immune function

INGREDIENTS – BAY LEAF TEA:

4-5 dried bay leaves

1 cinnamon stick (1 tspn ground cinnamon)

1 liter of water

PROCEDURE- BAY LEAF TEA:

Add leaves and cinnamon to the water and simmer for about 20 minutes. And allow them to steep and drink by adding honey.

Pleasantly aromatic bay leaf  is one of the well-recognized culinary leaf-spices in use since the earliest times. Botanically, bay tree belongs to the family of Lauraceae, in the genus; Laurus. It is thought to have originated in Asia Minor region, from where it distributed to all over the Mediterranean region and other parts of Asia. Scientific name: Laurus nobilis. (In karnataka it is called as paththa or pulav leaf and in Tamilnadu Brinji ilai.)
