Bengaluru: Anandi Athletic, a range of sanitary napkins invented and manufactured by Aakar Innovations, a social enterprise company, is India’s first and only certified sanitary pads that are ~100% compostable and backed by patented technology. This new range of sanitary napkins was launched in Bengaluru, in the presence of Mrs. Julia Morley (CEO of Miss World Organization), Ms Karolina Bielawska (Miss World 2022), and Ms Sini Shetty (Miss India 2022).
Through their revolutionary technology, Aakar Innovations has curated sustainable period care products, free of harmful chemicals and plastics. This makes it good for the health of women and the planet. Its products are free from artificial dyes and fragrances, plastics, dioxin, and other materials that contain carcinogens, making them comfortable to use and easy and safe to dispose of.
Anandi Athletic is currently priced at ₹65 for 7 XL pads and ₹80 for 7 XXL pads. They are now available across more than 100 retail stores in Bengaluru. Anandi Athletic pads will be in retail stores across the state of Karnataka soon.

Anandi pads are India’s first and certified compostable pads that return to the soil as manure within 3 to 6 months under composting conditions and are a green value-addition. Each pad turns into 40-50 grams of compost in the soil and can be used as manure later. The product is not only good for the body but also good for the environment.
Safety and Hygiene of women as the topmost priority
Anandi Athletic pads hold the promise to protect women from rashes, irritation, allergies, and other critical diseases and disorders that may arise due to the use of harsh chemicals as superabsorbent materials. Conventional plastic pads are made with multiple harmful chemicals like toxins, sodium polyacrylate (Gel/SAP), fragrances, synthetics, etc., and also with plastics.
