Bengaluru: Columbia Asia Hospital Hebbal has been honoured with the ‘Best Green Hospital Award’ recently,under Social Footprint category of the Express Healthcare Excellence Awards.
The hospital was audited on the parameters like standards of Green OT certification, usage of heat pumps instead of boilers, use of solar energy and LED lights and the practicing of eco- friendly refrigerants and anaesthesia gases.
“We are extremely excited to be awarded as the Best Green Hospital for our green initiatives. This recognition motivates us to introduce more such environmental initiatives. Introducing green concepts in the healthcare facilities will help address issues like infection, epidemics, water efficiency, energy efficiency, consumer waste and in general conservation of natural resources.
