What is Fungal Infection and home remedies? – Fungal Infection is caused by different types of fungi, which colonize on human body and cause an infection. In some cases, fungi that are typically existing on human body can multiply out of control and may cause infection. Fungal infections are generally transmissible, so can spread from one person to another easily. Fungal infections are most likely to affect skin, nails, or lungs.
There are different types of fungal infections like – athlete’s foot, jock itch, yeast infection, ringworm, onychomycosis, or a fungal infection of the nail.
Some types of fungi cause itchy, circular, slightly raised bumps on the skin. This is called dermatophytosis, tinea or ringworm. Mostly it causes excessive itching. Anti-fungal creams or medications may seem to reduce the problem for a moment, but the problem starts again as soon as you stop using them.
Fungi replicate by discharging spores that spreads by direct contact or even inhaled. So it easily spreads through sharing someone’s clothing. Some types of fungi don’t usually root infection for humans but effects people with feeble immune systems. So, if we increase the immunity of our skin, we can get rid of this problem permanently.
Lack of nutrition, excessive sweating, moist skin, low immunity, lack of cleanliness, diabetes and certain types of medicines are more likely to cause this problem. According to Ayurveda, eating too much fried food is riskier. Consuming too much salt, sour and salty foods, eating foods that increase kapha and pitta doshas like brinjal, uddu etc. are more likely to have this problem. So it is very important to avoid all such food.
Here are some home remedies that can cure fungal infections.
- Taking two or two grams of amrita vine, bitter neem, neela neem root, adumutta green, turmeric in four glasses of water and consuming it after drying it. This drink has bitter properties, so drinking one glass of this tea will not only increase the immunity of the skin, but also eliminate fungus. All of these are available in the glandular stores. If any of these are not available, the rest can be made into a decoction and consumed.
- Adding turmeric to the neem oil and applying it daily at least half an hour before taking a bath will cure the problem very well. Mixing the powders of triphalachurn, bitter gourd, kachora, khadir, turmeric, gourd powder, manjishta etc. and using it for bathing is also very helpful.
- Basil has amazing anti-fungal properties. Applying a paste made by adding as much Tulsi juice as needed with bitter gourd and turmeric powder helps a lot.
- For those who are suffering from long term and severe problem, Panchakarma treatments and naturopathy should cure the problem. These treatments cleanse the body and get rid of the problem.
