Do some smart changes for healthy life. The art of happy and successful living can be achieved by  definite plan, target or set of goals. Also regularly  commit to follow some schedules to achieve the target.

An overall change in lifestyle is also necessary to remain healthy. This includes regulated healthy dietary habit, regular walking, exercise and a free mind. You can also change your life the way you are living now to a better one for the rest of your life.

Do-some-smart-changes-for-healthy-life.1. Fix your goal an achievable and specific one. Make a schedule of regular diet and exercise and make it possible to follow it at the same time everyday.

2.Whatever form of exercise you are doing may be walking, cycling or free hand exercise, enjoy doing them and love to do them. It’s not good that somebody is forcing you to do them. Always keep in mind you are doing it for yourself, your health, your present and future. It should be do – or die situation for you.

3. Regular meals at a fixed time is necessary as your body system gets accustomed to it. By maintaining this regularity the entire body system functions properly.

4. Self motivation is the best strategy to bring your weight under control. Any force from the family or teasing from others will not help you in any way. Strong commitment from within yourself will charge you up to reach your goal of weight loss. You should understand the gain from these efforts. Otherwise inactivity will pull you down and problems may occur

5. Follow the principle of ‘Divide and Conquer’. Set a small goal,  I will try to follow the diet plan, exercise for 15 minutes and have my favourite food once a week’. Follow this for one month. In the next month slowly increase the time for exercise to 30 minutes. Starting with a big jump is not a wise step. If it fails, you may lose your enthusiasm. So be slow but steady.

6. According to a study report “80% of heart attacks are preventable by life style modifications when initiated early in life”. So to get a healthy life start your corrective steps now only.

7. In the World scenario, more and more people are changing their life style but ultimately being dissatisfied, they cannot return to their original life. According to a report by the World Watch Institute more than 25% of the world’s people now enjoy the life style, which belonged to the affluent class previously. By adopting this life style obesity debt time pressure increased making their life miserable. The ‘State of the World 2004’ commented that about 1.7 billion people have entered into a ‘High Consumer Class’ adopting their diets, own transport and other lifestyle previously enjoyed by the people of America, Europe and Japan. Reports says “Higher levels of obesity and personal debt, chronic time shortage and a degraded environment are all signs that excessive consumption is diminishing the quality of life for many people”.

8. Harmony of self and the environment should be the primary purpose of life. This comes from eating the right food, making your mind free from anger, jealousy, hatred, bitterness, unhealthy competition, etc. and get the right balance between body and mind by regular exercise meditation and relaxation.

A healthy mind can live only in a healthy body. But regular eating of read meat, oily stuffy dishes may make you short tempered angry and irritated.

10. Make sure you are consciously taking a decision to life style changes and place it as a priority. It takes a lot of dedication to change your life style for the rest of your life.

11. Avoid food craving – Distract your mind from eating something. Make yourself busy with some creative and positive work till your desire disappears.

12. Record your weight from time to time and compliment yourself for every event of weight loss however small it may be. At least you are moving in the right direction of losing weight.

13. Don’t eat to beat the stress – You may not be knowing that you are munching something always from time to time. This comfort in eating is called ‘Psychological Hunger*. It arises from stress, boredom, frustration and many other disturbances.

14.Food is a source of comfort to many people. According to a Clinical Psychologist “Any psychological disturbance in an individual leads him to seek food as a solace.  Food rich in carbohydrates secrete a chemical substance – endorphin which is described as a mood upper”.

15. To avoid this overeating, you may compliment yourself and others to buy a perfume or clothing rather than always eating in a restaurant. Engage yourself into any creative hobby or activity or play outdoor games with small children to keep yourself focused.
