Dr.Shiradi Prasad Tekur’ new book on holistic health will be released on the occasion.

Dr. Dileep R. Yavagal, MD, FAHA, FAAN, FSVIN is the Director of Interventional Neurology and Co- Director of Neuro endovascular Surgery at the University of Miami & Jackson Memorial Hospitals and Clinical Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Miami of Medicine,USA.

Dr. Yavagal is an internationally renowned neurologist specialized in the field of stroke and interventional surgeries in the blood vessels of the brain.He received his training in these specialties at Harvard, Columbia and UCLA universities in the USA. His research in stroke treatment has made a major impact in advancing the field of stroke. He was on the on the steering committee, SWIFT-Prime, the study that revolutionized the field of stroke. He co-authored the landmark 2015 AHA endovascular stroke therapy guidelines as well as the recent groundbreaking DAWN stroke trial in the New England Journal of Medicine. He has also co-authored the AHA Policy statement on Stroke Systems of Care published in May 2019.

Dr. Yavagal is a pioneer in the research field of catheter-based delivery of stem cells into the artery supplying the brain in stroke. He was the national Co-PI of the first US multi-center clinical trial of Intra-arterial delivery of autologous bone marrow stem cells for ischemic stroke: RECOVER Stroke. He has received several state and federal research grants to study stem cell therapies for ischemic stroke using small and large animal models of stroke in his research laboratory. In 2006 he founded the premier international medical organization: Society for Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) and was the society president from 2011-2013.
