Coconut oil has long been treasured in many cultures—not just as a cooking ingredient, but as a natural remedy for keeping the body strong and disease-free. In recent years, science has started to confirm what traditional wisdom has known for generations: coconut oil contains powerful compounds that may help support the immune system and protect against infections.

What Makes Coconut Oil Special?
Coconut oil is unique because it is rich in medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). These fats behave differently from the long-chain fats found in most other oils. The most important among them is lauric acid, which makes up nearly 50% of coconut oil.
When you consume lauric acid, your body converts it into a compound called monolaurin—a substance known to have strong antimicrobial properties. This is the same compound found in breast milk that helps protect infants from infections.

How Coconut Oil Boosts Immunity
Fights Bacteria: Lauric acid and monolaurin can break down the lipid walls of harmful bacteria. Studies show they can help fight pathogens like:
• Staphylococcus aureus
• Streptococcus
• Helicobacter pylori (linked to stomach ulcers)
By reducing harmful bacterial load, coconut oil helps the immune system function better.

Strong Antiviral Effects: One of the most fascinating benefits of coconut oil is its ability to fight viruses that have lipid membranes. Monolaurin can deactivate viruses by disrupting their fatty coating. These may include – Influenza (flu virus); Herpes virus; Cytomegalovirus; Respiratory viruses. This doesn’t mean coconut oil can cure viral infections, but it can help strengthen your body’s natural defense mechanism.

Fights Fungal and Yeast Infections: Coconut oil has antifungal properties and is popularly used to manage – Candida overgrowth; Fungal skin infections; Dandruff and scalp fungus. By controlling harmful fungi in the gut and on the skin, it supports a healthier immune environment.

Supports Gut Health: A major portion of the immune system lives in the gut. Coconut oil –
• Reduces harmful microbes
• Supports healthy digestion
• Helps maintain a balanced gut microbiome
A healthier gut means a stronger, more responsive immune system.

Reduces Inflammation: Chronic inflammation weakens immunity. Coconut oil contains antioxidants that help – Lower inflammation; Protect cells from damage; Support faster healing. This makes the body more resilient to infections and everyday stress.

How to Use Coconut Oil for Better Immunity
1. Include It in Your Diet:

• Add 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon daily to your meals.
• Use it for sautéing vegetables.
• Mix into smoothies for an energy boost.
• Stir into warm water or herbal tea.
Start small if you are not used to it, as too much at once can upset the stomach.

2. Use It Externally
• Apply on skin to prevent dryness and fungal infections.
• Use as an oil pull (swishing in the mouth) to reduce harmful oral bacteria.
• Massage on scalp to reduce microbial build-up and strengthen roots.

3. Use Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO)
For immunity benefits, virgin coconut oil is considered the best option because it:
• Retains more antioxidants
• Undergoes minimal processing
• Has a higher concentration of natural compounds.

Its antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties make it a valuable ally in protecting your body from infections. Combined with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, coconut oil can help strengthen your immunity naturally and effectively.

Today, artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, and we carry it in our hands through smartphones and other digital devices. However, while technology is evolving, our brain health is deteriorating. Brain-related issues like dementia and Alzheimer’s are rising, and problems such as anxiety, depression, and forgetfulness are becoming common even among the younger generation. It is crucial to understand the reasons behind this decline and find effective solutions to maintain cognitive well-being.

The Role of Diet in Brain Health
The ancient wisdom of Ayurveda emphasizes, “Aahar Shuddo Satva Shuddhih,” meaning that our mind and brain can remain healthy only if we consume clean, nutritious, and sattvic food. Unfortunately, modern eating habits have shifted towards junk food and chemically processed items, which negatively impact brain development, particularly in young individuals under 18-20 years of age.

Many scientific studies, including research from Harvard University, highlight the strong gut-brain connection. When we consume unhealthy foods, harmful bacteria grow in the intestines, affecting brain function. The intake of good fats—such as those found in ghee, fish, and eggs—plays a vital role in brain development. Thus, incorporating healthy fats into our diet is essential for maintaining optimal brain function.

Sleep and Brain Function
Sleep is another critical factor in brain health. A complete sleep cycle lasts 90 minutes, and we should complete at least four to five such cycles each night, translating to 7-8 hours of sleep. During sleep, the brain undergoes repair and detoxification, which is essential for memory and cognitive function. Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to cognitive decline and memory problems.

Exercise for Brain Health
Regular physical activity, particularly for at least 30 minutes a day, benefits the brain’s hippocampus—the region responsible for memory and learning. Exercise promotes the growth and longevity of brain cells. Yoga and pranayama (breath control techniques) have been found to enhance brain function by improving oxygen supply and reducing stress.

Harmful Substances and Their Impact on the Brain
Toxins present in sugar, tobacco, alcohol, and cigarettes directly affect the brain. These substances disrupt dopamine levels, leading to addiction, anxiety, and depression. Excessive sugar consumption, in particular, has been linked to cognitive decline and memory issues. Research suggests that reducing sugar intake can help prevent mental disorders and maintain cognitive sharpness.

The Impact of Technology on Brain Development
The excessive use of mobile phones negatively impacts brain development, especially in children. Studies show that overuse of screens affects the prefrontal cortex, impairing cognitive stability and emotional regulation. Engaging in brain-stimulating activities such as playing chess, solving puzzles, and memory-related games can help counteract these effects and enhance mental agility.

Nutrients Essential for Brain Health
Deficiencies in essential vitamins like B12 and D can impair cognitive function. Ensuring adequate intake of these nutrients through diet or supplements is crucial for brain health. Foods rich in these vitamins, such as dairy products, fish, eggs, and fortified cereals, should be incorporated into our daily meals.

While artificial intelligence continues to evolve, we must not neglect our natural intelligence—our brain health. By adopting a balanced diet, prioritizing sleep, engaging in regular exercise, avoiding harmful substances, and reducing screen time, we can ensure long-term cognitive well-being. By making these small yet significant changes, we can maintain a sharp and healthy brain for a lifetime.

Ahmedabad: Stavya Spine Hospital, a renowned leader in exclusive spine care for over two decades, has introduced the Open Standing Weight Bearing MRI(Manufactured by Esaote SpA Italy) to its suite of advanced diagnostic tools. This innovative technology, designed specifically to meet the unique demands of spine diagnostics, enables imaging in standing, sitting and supine positions, offering new dimensions in evaluating spine conditions. The addition of this tool underscores Stavya’s commitment to ethical care, transparency, and advancing patient outcomes.

Transforming Diagnostics with Open Standing MRI
Unlike conventional MRIs, which require patients to lie flat for higher-resolution imaging, the Open Standing Esaote’s MRI allows for weight-bearing assessments of the spine. This machine is particularly suited to dynamic evaluations of conditions such as scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, and spinal instability. For patients with claustrophobia or anxiety about traditional MRI machines, the Open Standing MRI provides a more comfortable and open environment. Additionally, this technology can also be used to image the knee and hip in weight-bearing positions, offering valuable insights into joint health.

Dr. Mirant Dave, Spine Surgeon at Stavya, explained, “Our diagnostic philosophy is rooted in understanding how the spine functions under real-life conditions. The Open Standing Esaote’s MRI helps us evaluate the behavior of the spine under load, which is invaluable when determining whether a condition requires surgical intervention or can be managed conservatively. This is another step in our mission to deliver ethical, evidence-based care.” The Open Standing MRI is an essential tool for conditions where dynamic, functional imaging is critical.

Advanced Spine Care at Stavya

In addition to rehabilitation, Stavya has introduced Spine Health Checkups, a comprehensive program aimed at early detection and prevention of spine-related issues. The Open Standing MRI plays a central role in these checkups by offering dynamic imaging that uncovers subtle abnormalities and helps guide proactive treatment.
Dr. Akruti Dave added, “Spine Health Checkups are critical for detecting problems early, especially in individuals with sedentary lifestyles, poor posture, or chronic back pain. The Open Standing MRI allows us to offer patients a detailed understanding of their spine health, enabling timely interventions that can prevent further complications.”

Two Decades of Trust and Global Impact
Stavya Spine Hospital has built a legacy of trust over 20 years, treating thousands of patients from across India and the world. Patients turn to Stavya not only for its advanced technology but also for the hospital’s unwavering commitment to ethical, patient-first care.
In addition to its clinical impact, Stavya has been instrumental in training over 100 spine surgeons, many of whom now practice internationally. This focus on education and mentorship has helped Stavya contribute to the global advancement of spine care, ensuring its expertise reaches far beyond the hospital’s walls.

A Vision for the Future: Asia’s Largest Exclusive Spine Hospital
Looking to the future, Stavya is preparing to launch a new Center of Excellence in 2025, which will be the largest exclusive spine hospital in Asia. This landmark facility will expand Stavya’s capabilities, featuring advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, increased capacity for patient care, and dedicated spaces for research and education. This project underscores Stavya’s ambition to remain at the forefront of spine care globally.
Mrs. Amita Dave, Managing Director, stated, “As we prepare for this new chapter, our focus remains on maintaining the trust of our patients. The Open Standing MRI is more than just a new diagnostic tool—it reflects our values of transparency, ethics, and a commitment to providing the most appropriate care for each individual.”

The Value of Transparency in Diagnostics
At Stavya, transparency is central to its care philosophy. The introduction of the Open Standing MRI is no exception. By openly sharing the specifications and purpose of this tool, Stavya ensures patients understand its role in their diagnostic journey.

Dr. Preety Krishnan, Radiologist, explained, “The Open Standing MRI is an important tool for specific spine conditions that require imaging in natural, weight-bearing positions. It’s ability to provide functional insights into the spine’s behavior is invaluable for certain diagnoses. This transparency helps patients feel confident and informed about their care.”

A Return to Nature-Based Nutrition.

In recent years, we have witnessed a concerning rise in lifestyle-related health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, menstrual problems, PCOD, anemia, indigestion, and constipation. These problems are largely attributed to the shift from natural, whole foods consumed by our ancestors to modern processed foods.

Nutritional Power of Pulses
Pulses, including legumes like lentils, chickpeas, and beans, are high in fibre and essential nutrients. Their high fibre content plays a significant role in reducing bad fats in the body. A notable characteristic of pulses is their complex sugar content, which helps prevent rapid spikes in blood sugar levels. This makes them an excellent choice for individuals managing diabetes.

For example, while rice contains about 80% sugar, pulses have only 65%. The crucial difference lies in the way these sugars are absorbed by the body. The sugar from rice is quickly absorbed within half an hour, leading to a sudden increase in blood sugar levels. In contrast, the sugars in pulses are absorbed slowly, taking up to ten hours, which allows for better blood sugar control and helps in managing diabetes effectively.

Satiety and Weight Management
Incorporating pulses into our diet not only aids in diabetes management but also promotes satiety. The complex carbohydrates in pulses help keep us full longer, which can reduce overall food intake and assist in weight management. Conversely, consuming more rice, which digests quickly, can lead to increased hunger and potential overeating.

A Nutrient-Rich Addition to Your Diet
Experts recommend the daily consumption of pulses to enhance health. Varieties such as soybean, chickpeas, and lentils can be combined to create nutritious meals. However, it is essential to consume pulses in the right amounts to avoid potential digestive issues, especially when introducing them into diet.

A Delicious Solution: Soup for Diabetics
To complement the benefits of pulses, incorporating nutritious soups can be an excellent way to manage diabetes. A simple and delicious recipe is soup for Diabetics, which combines ingredients rich in nutrients and antioxidants:

Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons of butter
• 1 onion, chopped
• 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
• 100 grams of sweet pumpkin, cubed
• 10-12 cashew nuts
• Black pepper powder (to taste)
• Salt (to taste)

Onions are high in antioxidants, while butter is rich in vitamin B and contains healthy fats. A 100 -gram serving of sweet pumpkin has a low sugar content of only 3 grams, making it suitable for diabetics. Pepper aids digestion, and garlic is also rich in beneficial nutrients that can help lower cholesterol levels in diabetics.

Instructions:
In a pan, melt the butter and sauté the onion, garlic, sweet pumpkin, and cashew nuts until golden brown.
Add water and cook the mixture in a pressure cooker until soft.
Once cooked, blend the soup until smooth, adding black pepper and salt to taste.
Enjoy this nutritious soup twice daily to help maintain blood sugar levels and overall health.

A Holistic Approach to Health
With the rise in diabetes and other lifestyle diseases, it is clear that managing our diets is crucial. A balanced approach—combining a healthy diet, regular exercise, and necessary medications —serves as a strong foundation for controlling diabetes. Pulses are not just a source of nutrition; they are an essential part of a holistic lifestyle that promotes health and well-being.

By embracing the wisdom of our ancestors and incorporating pulses into our daily meals, we can take significant steps toward managing diabetes and enhancing our overall health. Let’s prioritize whole foods and make conscious dietary choices for a healthier future.

The liver is one of the largest and most important organs in the body. It is the primary organ of detoxification and performs many other functions including metabolizing fats, carbohydrates, and proteins, balancing hormones, blood sugar stability, the formation of ketones, and aiding digestion.

Liver detoxification

Liver does filtering and detoxification of natural and environmental toxins and pathogenic organisms in the body. It also recognizes toxic substances and converts the toxic substances into benign substances that can be released and removed by the kidneys or the gallbladder.

Digestion and nutrient regulation

Liver acts as a digestive organ and plays a central role in all metabolic processes in the body, helping metabolize fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. It stores the vitamins and minerals and releases into the blood when needed and converts nutrients in our food into essential blood components. It also produces bile which is essential for absorbing fats in our diet. Bile is secreted by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. Bile aids in the elimination of fat-soluble toxins and excess substances such as hormones from our bodies.

Herbs such as milk thistle, ginger, dandelion root, cilantro, garlic, and turmeric are powerful for detoxification. Most of the herbs that support the liver are bitter, as this activates the liver to create bile and clear out old waste.

14. Nuts

They are an excellent source of healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats that protect against fat accumulation. Walnuts contain the amino acid arginine which is necessary to remove ammonia from the body. They also contain glutathione and omega 3 fatty acids. Hence they can improve lipid profile, hepatic steatosis, and inflammation.

15. Water

Water is the easiest available and most underrated one. Drinking enough water helps in removing the toxins from the body which in turn help liver directly.

16. Leafy Green Vegetables

The most nutrient-dense leafy greens are spinach, kale, chard, arugula, swiss chard, collards, and book Choy. These are excellent sources of potassium, manganese, and magnesium. They also contain chlorophyll which assists the liver by neutralizing heavy metals and toxic chemicals.

17. Apples

Pectin in apples helps the release of toxins from the digestive track thereby reducing the workload of the liver. Eat apple after dinner or drink the juice at least 2-3 times a week for good liver health. Use apples in salads and desserts to increase its consumption.

Habits for healthy liver

Eating foods good for the liver can help keep the organ healthy. Some food items that can help the liver are:

Coffee

Tofu

Oatmeal

Walnuts

Avocado

Milk and Low-Fat Dairy Products

Sunflower Seeds

Olive Oil

Green Tea

Grapefruit

Blueberries

Cranberries

Grapes

Other than healthy food for liver, some LIFESTYLE CHOICES can help keep it healthy. These include:

Being active

Exercising regularly

Keeping the body weight under check

Getting proper vaccinations

Avoiding weight loss medicine

Protecting yourself against diseases like Hepatitis C or B

Keeping your cholesterol, hypertension and blood sugar levels under control

To conclude

Your liver plays a very important role and it’s recommended that you do what you can to protect it for a healthy life. The foods listed above have demonstrated beneficial effects on the liver and incorporating these foods into your diet is a natural and healthy way to help keep your liver functioning at its best like– lower the risk of liver diseases and protect your liver against harmful toxins.

A Woman’s menstrual cycle is usually around 23 to 32 days, with menstrual bleeding usually starting about two weeks after ovulation. However, it is not unusually that a period, or menstruation, sometimes starts earlier or gets delayed If the possibility of a pregnancy is overruled, a delayed period can still be annoying. Pregnancy aside, there are many possible reasons for a late period, including stress and illness.

List of potentially emmenagogue foods

Emmenagogue foods or emmenagogic foods are foods and herbs that have been reported to stimulate blood flow in the pelvic area & uterus and there are believed to stimulate menstruation.

1. Both flat leaf & curly parsley contain apiol and myristicin which are known to stimulate contractions of the uterus. Folk healers around the world have touched parsley tea as ‘REMEDY’ for delayed periods.

2. Celery stalks & leaves are said to work much in the same way as parsley to induce menstruation.

3. Cumin belongs to same apiaceae family of plants as parsley and cumin seeds are commonly used as a natural uterine stimulant in India.

(Drink a glass of beetroot juice by adding 2 tbspn of cumin seed powder)

4. Angelica root or dong quai is yet another member of the apiaceae family that has been claimed to bring on a delayed period. This root herb is also recommended to people who suffered from menstrual cramps or menopausal problems.

5. Fenugreek seeds encourage menstruation. These aromatic seeds are also recommended to breastfeeding mothers who want to increase milk supply.

(Boil a glass of water by adding 2 tbspn of fenugreek seeds, 10 basil leaves for 10 mins. Filter and drink twice a day by adding honey.)

6. According to some natural healers, extracts from rue, an evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean region and some parts of asia, have been used internally as an abortifacient, emmenagogue & a treatment of menstrual cramps.

7. Some people claim that eating papaya or drinking papaya juice can help induce menstruation. It has been suggested that the purported emmenagogic effect of papaya might be linked to the high amounts of carotene & Vit-C found in this healthy food. Also, papain an enzyme present in papaya may play a role.

(Eat a bowl of ripened papaya by adding a tspn of apple cider vinegar, dry coconut scrapings, 2tbspn of black sesame seeds twice a day.)

8. Baked & ground root chicory has been used as a coffee substitute, particularly in poorer economic areas. It is also claimed to contain compounds that can help start the onset of menstrual flow.

9. Aloe vera juice is a digestive aid that is commonly used to calm an upset stomach.

(Drink 200 ml of fresh aloe vera juice by adding mint leaves and Jaggery.)

10. In Asia, licorice root, which is known to contain phytoestrogens, has been used as an emmenagoge, galactogogne and aphrodisiac.

(First in the morning, drink licorice tea with honey.)

11. Pomegranate is another food that is known to be rich in phytoestrogens and that has been used as a dietary emmenagogue & uterine stimulant.

(Drink a glass of pomegranate juice by adding tulasi leaves and a tspn of black sesame seeds.)

12. The common kitchen herbs basil, rosemary, sage, marjoram and oregano have been used as emmenagogues.

13. Cinnamon has been reported to be a uterine stimulant, when consumed in high doses.

(Drink a glass of cinnamon tea by adding lemon and honey.)

14. Make an emmenagogic infusion from dried chamomile flowers. Chamomile tea has been claimed to encourage menstruation & cause miscarriages when drunk in high amounts.

15. Hyssop, a slightly bitter herb that is used to spice up soups, salads and meats has been described as an emmenagogic and abortifacent herb.

16. In herbal medicine, burdock root is often recommended as a blood purifier, but it is also thought to be a uterine stimulant.

Mouth Ulcers usually do not last for very long but can cause pain and make it difficult for you to talk or eat. Here are some home remedies to ease your ulcer’s discomfort.

(THIS ARTICLE IS BASED ON PATIENT’S POSITIVE FEEDBACK)

Ulcers occur inside your mouth or on your gums. They usually do not last for very long but can cause pain and make it difficult for you to talk or eat. Most canker sores heal on their own within a couple of weeks. Here are some home remedies that can help with the ulcers in the mouth. It is not possible to heal them overnight, but they will prove helpful in relieving the pain by stimulating the healing process.

There are multiple causes of ulcers like stress, insufficient sleep, stomach and intestine diseases, vitamin B and folic acid deficiency, and trauma and food allergy. Although, the actual cause of these ulcers is still unknown, however, these reasons are associated with them.

Home remedies to ease your ulcer’s discomfort :

1)SALT WATER GARGLING:

Rinsing your mouth with salt water is an easy and readily available remedy. Though it causes some pain, it may help dry out canker sores.

Mix 1 teaspoon of salt in half cup of warm water. Swirl this solution in your mouth for 15 to 30 seconds and spit it out. Repeat every few hours if needed.

2) HONEY:

Honey is well known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Honey came out to be effective in reducing canker sore pain, size, and redness.

You can apply honey to the sore four times a day till the sore gets cured. It is advised to go for unpasteurized, unfiltered honey, like Manuka honey, as it is less processed and works well in healing ulcers.

3) CHAMOMILE:

Chamomile is used as a natural remedy to cure wounds and ease the pain. A chamomile tea bag can help in compressing and soothing canker sores.

You can apply a wet chamomile tea bag to your canker sore and leave it on for a few minutes. You can also choose to rinse your mouth with freshly brewed chamomile tea. Repeat the treatment three to four times every day.

4) APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:

Apple cider vinegar is well known for its healing properties and health benefits. Apple cider vinegar helps kill bacteria that can make the sore worse.

Mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water.

Swish this mixture around your mouth for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Spit out the mixture and rinse your mouth thoroughly. Repeat every day.

5) COCONUT OIL:

Coconut oil helps in reducing the discomfort caused due to the ulcer by reducing the swelling. Anti-inflammatory compounds in coconut oil help in doing so.

All you need to do is dab a cotton ball in some virgin coconut oil and apply it on your ulcers. Repeat this after every few hours. You can also apply coconut oil to ulcers and sleep with it.

6) TRIPHALA:

Triphala is an Ayurveda herbal powder consisting of three Indian fruits – Amalaki, Bibhitaki and Haritaki. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Triphala with 1 cup of water to make a decoction. Gargle with it once a day. Hold it in your mouth for 1 to 2 minutes and then spit it out. Triphala has powerful healing and anti-inflammatory properties that one cannot miss out on. In fact, triphala is said to heal most stomach related issues.

7) ALOE VERA JUICE:

Swish some aloe vera juice a couple of times in the day to get relief. This simple home remedy is the easiest way to treat mouth ulcers. Aloe vera also has natural anti-inflammatory properties and drinking aloe vera juice is known to cure even stomach ulcers. It offers relief by healing the stomach lining and reducing acidic secretions.

8) TULSI LEAVES:

Tulsi leaves are known to be very therapeutic and have been known for their medicinal properties. Chew some fresh leaves and drink water to swallow them. They might be a bit bitter, but it really works. You can even boil some fenugreek leaves and use the water to gargle two-three times in a day. Make sure you use these concoctions regularly to reap maximum benefits.

9) CABBAGE JUICE:

Boil a raw cabbage and puree it once after it is sufficiently boiled. Drink this juice three to four times each day to receive the needed benefits. Cabbage possesses anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the pain in your mouth, allowing you to consume solid foods easily, even though you may be suffering from severe mouth ulcers.

10) ORANGE JUICE:

Orange is a great source of Vitamin C, which can prevent and aid mouth ulcers. However, consuming a whole orange may be difficult when you are suffering from these ulcers. A great cure for mouth ulcer is to drink two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice every day.

11) COCONUT MILK:

Use the coconut milk to gargle when you are suffering from mouth ulcers. This is one of the best cures for mouth ulcer. When repeated three to four times each day, you are likely to feel a soothing effect and also reduced pain emanating from your ulcers. Even can drink a glass of fresh coconut milk by adding a tsp. of turmeric powder and a pinch of cinnamon powder.

12) CLOVE OIL:

Clove is an essential part of one of the most used spice mixes in India. Clove oil is extracted from the flower bud. This extract is used in a wide range of natural remedies, including tooth ache and mouth ulcers. In case of mouth ulcers, take a small piece of cotton and apply the oil directly on the ulcer. Wait till the ulcer tissue absorbs the oil.

Remember to rinse your mouth with warm water prior to the application of the clove oil. This will clean up the surface of the ulcer region. Clove contains eugenol and antimicrobial properties that help deal with all oral issues. The pain and inflammation is also treated by the application of this oil.

13. TURMERIC:

Turmeric is a wonderful antidote to mouth ulcers. Just make a smooth paste of turmeric and water, apply on the ulcer and wait for a couple of minutes. Rinse off. Try to do this at least twice a day. Turmeric for mouth ulcers works because it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

14. GARLIC:

Allicin in garlic can work against a host of microorganisms. Take a garlic clove, cut into halves and rub gently against the ulcers. Wait for an hour and then rinse off. Keep applying this till the pain subsides.

15. MILK:

In most cases, mouth ulcers may be caused due to some imbalance in the stomach or intestines. You should eat light meals and drink lot of fluids to keep your stomach clean. Add a lot of probiotics in your diet like yogurt as they help in strengthening your gut flora. Drinking a glass of milk with a teaspoon of saunf, turmeric and pepper powder also helps in regulating stomach and digestive functions
