New Delhi, 03 Dec 2020:Despite Pharma sales representatives being locked indoors due to COVID-19 outbreak, Rx drug brands reached out to 75% Physicians in their targeted specialties, as per the 100-day Report of Doceree, Physician-only platforms for programmatic marketing.

Pharma marketers were able to get close to 2/3rd of the reach they were getting in the pre-COVID era. Doceree analysed over 20 million impressions served through its platform in the last 100 days from July 2020 – Oct 2020 (Q3 2020) and observed real-time developments in the Physician digital marketing space that could reflect broader trends.

“With COVID, it became difficult for Pharma brands to reach out to doctors. The field force was grounded, events/ conferences/congresses were either cancelled or moved online. In such a scenario, sales force took to tools like Whats App and i-messages to gain access to doctors and used Zoom meetings for remote detailing; but all with very little success as doctors found them intrusive in their professional and personal lives. In that scenario, Pharma marketers found solace in digital. They looked for professional platforms to reach out to doctors in a regulatory-compliant manner,” said Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder & CEO, Doceree.

The report dug deep into the vast amount of data captured by the Doceree platform to provide marketers with key trends and important insights into the Physician digital marketing. The data has been gathered from the digital marketing campaigns that pharmaceutical and healthcare brands run through the platform.

In terms of reach, Delhi & Mumbai provides nearly 10% reach of the overall doctor population. If Delhi-NCR (Central Delhi, Gurgaon, and Faridabad) is considered, then the reach is around 12%. Interestingly, 8 out of top 10 cities that give higher reach are in North India. Doceree provides the ability to precision target Physicians with its unique identity-resolution proprietary technology – Espyian.

New Delhi, 03 Dec 2020:Despite the ever-growing popularity of mobile devices, about 90% Physicians in India still prefer desktops over mobiles for upgrading their professional knowledge base, as per the 100-day report of Doceree, the Physician-only platform for programmatic marketing.

Of the total volume of impressions served through Doceree to Physicians, nearly 87% were served on desktop, while only 13% were served on mobile devices. Doceree analysed over 20 million impressions served through its platform in the last 100 days from July 2020 – Oct 2020 (Q3 2020) and observed real-time developments in the Physician digital marketing space that could reflect broader trends.

“As part of their omnichannel strategies, Pharma brands turn to mobile audiences to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS). Today, the traffic split is nearly 60:40 when it comes to devices versus desktops. But our insights presented a contrasting view. We observed that for professional purposes like reading a medical journal, attending a CME/webinar, or even content consumption on a Physician network, Physicians prefer desktops over smart phones/tablets,” said Dr.

COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown provided a perfect opportunity to Physicians to increase their knowledge base which so often remains ignored because of their packed schedules. Virtual webinars became a norm and CMEs were attended frequently. Physicians read online medical journals, and attended online education programs with more vigour than ever.

The report suggests that around 80% of the desktop impressions were served on online medical journals, and nearly 19% impressions on online learning portals. Physician Networks are picking up in terms of engagement, while EHR and Telemedicine platforms have not shown any statistically engagement yet.

“We are witnessing similar trends on Docplexus. We have been an active community of over 3,80,000 Physicians across 98 specialties but we have seen a bigger surge recently in digital adoption by these doctors for their knowledge upgradation, peer-to-peer connections and

patient connect. Online Physician-networking is still evolving but I am sure that it will become the mainstay for medical education in the near future,” said Dr. Mukesh Parmar, the CEO of Docplexus, one of the top 5 platforms in terms of Physician engagement in partnership with Doceree.

<img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-15130" src="https://healthvision.in/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/doceree-survey-276x300.jpg" alt="Is desktop dead?
While online medical journals saw nearly 50% impressions coming from General Physicians (GPs) and Consulting Physicians (CPs), online learning platforms and Physician networks were dominated by specialists like Cardiologists, Diabetologists and Infectious Disease specialists. Doceree provides the ability to precision target Physicians with its unique identity-resolution proprietary technology – Espyian. It targets over 1 million Physicians across the US and 300,000 in India.

2. 90% Pharma marketers say non-transparency is a key set-back in digital espousal in Rx drug marketing: Doceree survey.

3. New Jersey-based Doceree launches AI-enabled dashboard to bring transparency in Pharmaceutical Marketing

November 2, 2020: 90% Pharmaceutical marketers are of the opinion that non-transparency of ‘doctor reach and results’ is a key set-back for implementation of digital in Rx drug marketing, according to the study by Doceree, the foremost global web of Physician-only platforms for programmatic marketing. It is a fact that Pharmaceutical industry hang back on digital espousal in contrast to consumer brands which have seen fabulous growth in digital marketing technologies.

In the past decade, pioneering digital business models aroused in a various fields. Nevertheless, pharmaceutical by and large remained an exemption from entering to digital platforms. The marketing strategies are still limited to conventional ways of doing business and Physician marketing is nowhere close to consumer marketing that grew leaps and bounds after companies in the space shifted to digital methods and made them an vital tool to sweep to their targeted crowd.

“We associate with several digital platforms. But the output are not very pleasing and very often there seems to be discrepancies in the information provided. Deciphering information that are pooled by partner digital platforms is a tough task and data points all the time do not go with the results shared, heading to discrepancy. Thus this non-transparency is a big confront to make use of digital channels,” said a Pharma marketer on circumstance of ambiguity.

Doceree undertook the survey with 500 Pharmaceutical marketers of zenith Rx drug firms, comprising Abbott, Pfizer, Cipla, GSK and Novartis, to know how big uncertain block non-transparency was in digital implementation among Pharma marketers. To solve the enduring issue and nourish trust among Pharma marketers and build the category, Doceree has presented AI-enabled dashboard that provide its clients – pharma brands and media agencies – get information and updates about their strategy in real time.

“Rx drug brands make great pay-outs for promotion on generic digital decks. Though there is no clarity of progress of digital campaigns, thus beating the very intention of using a digital platform. They squander monies on the digital medium to get in touch with Physicians, but are not very certain about the authenticity of output. For Pharma marketers who are already sceptical about digital mediums, the situation has only aggravated further and led to confidence issues. Our AI-enabled dashboard will give full transparency, manage and the aptitude to enhance for better efficiencies. A lot of brands are already channelling all their digital marketing spends through Doceree now,” said Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder & CEO, Doceree.

At a time when digital is achieving a strong grip, Doceree is striving to develop an ecosystem that creates trust among Pharma marketers and aid them to utilise the true prospective of digital platform.

Doceree launches email adserving solution for physicians. The launch of India’s 1st integrated programmatic DocereeDirectTM furthers company’s vision to streamline physician marketing and bring credibility and enhanced performance in email marketing.

New Delhi, 16 September, 2020: In its bid to make Physician marketing effective and efficient, Doceree today launched India’s 1st Integrated Programmatic Email Ad-serving Solution for Physicians, a product that brings in huge credibility in email marketing and promises to significantly enhance performance of email campaigns.

With the launch of DocereeDirectTM, the company, which is the World’s Largest Programmatic Physician Engagement Platform, has expanded its product offering in India. Physician marketing in the country is scattered and the announcement of programmatic email adserving solution is yet another attempt by Doceree to streamline the landscape.

“Pharmaceutical brands everyday send multiple emails to Physicians to keep them updated about an innovation or to engage with them about their products or services. However, the email opening rates are pretty low as they mostly end up in spam or in promotions section. This makes the entire effort of Pharmaceutical brands futile as click through rates (CTRs) are dismal. Post the pandemic, when Rx drug brands are actively embracing the digital medium, we saw the time to be apt to expand our product portfolio to further our mission and vision of bringing efficiency and effectiveness in Pharma marketing,” said Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder & CEO, Doceree.

World over, email marketing is a preferred mode of business communication with 73% of marketers choosing it to engage with their audience on a daily basis*. But the sad reality is that majority of the emails are not even opened once. The company while analysing the reasons for low output of email marketing efforts of Pharma brands surmised that credibility of the sender plays an important role in the opening rates and effectiveness of any emailer campaign.

Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder & CEO, Doceree.

“In case of Pharma brands, emails are sent by unknown email addresses and so they end up in spam. With Doceree Direct, Pharma brands will be able to send targeted messaging to Physicians in a regulatory-compliant and precise manner. Rather than bulk mails being sent from unknown sources, DocereeDirectTM will work only with reputed and credible partners like National/ International Medical Associations, Medical Education Portals and Physician Networks, and utilize their email inventory. This will ensure that all the emails will be delivered to opted-in Physicians,” Dr. Harshit added.

DocereeDirectTM will not only ensure that messaging sent by Rx drug brands are delivered into the inbox of Physicians, it will also help build an all-new source of revenue generation for doctor-only platforms. “Physician-only platforms also send multiple emails to their registered members every day. The emails, opted-in by Physicians and sent from a credible source like theirs, have a huge opening and click through rates (CTRs). This creates a potential revenue stream for professional platforms, yet not explored by them. Doceree Direct has built a unique revenue generation opportunity for them.” The company had launched its India operations in March 2020.

According to the study by Doceree, top 10 foreign doctor-only medical education websites from the US, the UK and Canada have 20 million login sessions from India in June this year.

New Delhi, 23 July, 2020: Doctors continuously need to keep themselves updated with regard to medical advancement, new research and latest techniques in the field, and Indian doctors throng foreign doctor-only medical education websites to keep their knowledge base enhanced than Indian ones, reveals an analysis carried out by Doceree, the Programmatic Physician Engagement Platform, using a leading international web analytics platform.

The data, analyzed for June this year, shows that of the 432 million login sessions of top 10 foreign doctor-only medical education websites from the US, the UK and Canada, a staggering 20 million were from India. During the same span, India’s top 6 doctor-only medical education websites recorded a dismal 43K sessions.

The web analytics site could not record statistics of other Indian medical education websites as it does not capture data if it is below 5K. India has been bullish on digital healthcare after the Narendra Modi Government put a thrust upon taking the country on the digital path ever since it resumed office in 2014. However, the data paints a very bleak picture when Indian doctors do not have credible and informative Indian digital websites to turn to for knowledge enhancement.

Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder and CEO, Doceree.

“A push towards digital should not imply that it is only for consumers, it must also serve our doctors. At a time when digital healthcare is booming in the country, doctors too should have Indian platforms in the digital space which they can explore to update their medical knowledge. As our analysis suggests Indian doctors majorly turn to foreign sites to keep themselves updated, it is indicative that Indian websites are lagging way behind websites in the western countries. Though disheartening, it can be seen as an opportunity for Indian players to come up with quality medical education platforms not only for our doctors, but also for doctors from across the globe,” said Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder and CEO, Doceree.

Doctors consider medical education websites essential for they provide them critical information, including industry best practices, researches, new medical techniques and innovations in the medical field. “One of the reasons for high engagement on foreign sites could be relevancy of content. Doctors prefer visiting sites that has rich and engaging content around topics of their interest and expertise,” said Dr Rajiv Kovil, India’s leading Diabetologist and Founder Member and Secretary of United Diabetes Forum (UDF).

The analysis alarmingly also shows that the 520 million login sessions of top 15 medical education websites in the US, the UK and Canada in the month of June was much higher than the combined 943K login sessions of top 15 doctor-only Indian digital platforms such as medical education, telemedicine and doctor networking sites.

Health tech startup Doceree closes seed funding round of $1 M. Physician engagement Doceree startup will use the funding for customer acquisition and scaling up of business in both the launch markets – India and the US.

New Delhi, May 12, 2020: Doceree Inc., (www.doceree.com), the world’s first programmatic physician engagement platform, has raised $1 million in seed funding from a group of angel investors from India and the United States. The New Jersey-based Doceree successfully secured the funds despite the unprecedented corona virus crisis that is wreaking havoc on stocks worldwide, causing a meltdown in investment sentiment globally. The health-tech startup plans to utilize the funds for customer acquisition, recruiting talent, scaling up operations in India and the US and ramping up technology to further digitalize physician engagement experience.

The seed funding round was led by Kumar Gaurav, Founder & CEO of Beyond Codes in which other investors from advertising and pharmaceutical industry participated. Doceree, that connects pharma brands and digital platforms and allows products and services of the former to be marketed to physicians on the latter’s platforms, has also inducted Rahul Gupta in the management board. Mr Gupta is a serial investor in over 15 IT, ITES, Healthcare and the Real Estate sector businesses.

Founded in 2019, Doceree aims to address the problem of rising cost of healthcare by bringing efficiency and effectiveness to physician engagement by using data and creativity in healthcare marketing. Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder and CEO, Doceree, who began his career as a healthcare specialist and later turned full-time to healthcare marketing, said Doceree is playing a pivotal role in improving healthcare delivery and outcomes by building brand relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and adding genuine and long-term value to them through data-driven endemic marketing.

“In the healthcare space, there is a huge data that lies underutilized which when used efficiently can drastically change the way physicians are engaged. The challenge is that despite changing dynamics and the surge of digitisation, it’s still hard for pharmaceutical brands to approach physicians on the digital medium. While pharma companies spend a huge amount to market physicians in the traditional way, they are not able to tap the vast potential of the digital medium to grow their businesses. That is the gap Doceree plugs by helping them make the most of the Digital Physician Ecosystem through its Programmatic Physician Engagement Platform,” said Dr. Harshit.

The company witnessed a massive growth since its launch in the US, being able to create an expansive network of 1 million physicians there in an incredibly short span of time. After gaining a strong foothold in the US market, Doceree launched its India operations in mid-March this year, having advanced its entry to let pharmaceutical companies gain access to physicians amid corona virus pandemic through its platform for free, in its bid to support them when their crucial workforce of medical and sales representatives are locked indoors.

“Doceree’s concept of programmatic physician engagement is distinct, disruptive and innovative. How it became a crucial tool for pharma companies to reach out to doctors during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis establishes the greater need and importance of the platform. The future of digital access to physicians is very promising and we truly believe in Doceree’s vision,” said Rahul Gupta.

The company replicated the huge response it received in the US, in India as well. A significant number of renowned pharma brands and digital platforms are already using Doceree platform in both India and the US. Doceree enables pharma companies to market to physicians using technology to automatically serve ads — reaching the right user with the right message at the right time, optimising efficiency i.e. clicks and conversions, reducing waste and ensuring effective measurement of return on investment (RoI).

Extending solidarity, Doceree helps Cos reach doctors as medical sales reps stay indoors amid Corona lockdown. Company to offer its services for free to pharma, medical and healthcare companies in India and the US till April 30, or longer if lockdowns last.

Coming to the aid of pharma, medical and healthcare companies amid corona virus mayhem globally, US-based Doceree has said it will allow companies to advertise on its platforms for free and help them reach out to doctors uninterruptedly, an initiative taken to support them when their crucial workforce of medical and sales representatives are locked indoors.

Doceree,(www.doceree.com) the world’s first Programmatic Advertising Exchange for marketing to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), connects advertisers and publishers and allows products and services of the former to be marketed to doctors and HCPs on the latter’s platforms. The company will offer its services for free to advertisers and publishers in India and the US till April 30, or longer if lockdowns last.

Medical and sales representatives form a major chunk of the pharma and medical industry. Their job is vital as they keep the HCP community abreast about their company’s products — drugs, vaccines and medical equipment, among others and contribute significantly to the companies’ revenues. “Grounding of such important workforce of medical and sales representatives because of corona outbreak is bound to deal a severe blow to the pharma and medical industry. These companies will also experience a visible dent in their revenues owing to this.

Corona virus has wreaked havoc globally, and the best possible solution in the absence of an effective drug or vaccine has turned out to be social distancing as a result of which countries are implementing lockdowns for days at a stretch to break the chain of transmission. Doceree, which has its presence in India and the US, will be offering its services for free at both the locations.

When the entire community is coming together in these harsh times, we felt duty bound to do our bit and decided to offer our services for free to advertisers (pharma, medical and healthcare companies) and help them reach out to doctors uninterruptedly at this juncture,” says Dr. Harshit Jain, Founder and CEO, Doceree. “We will continue supporting the businesses both in India and the US. Initially, we will be offering our services for free till April 30. However, if the lockdowns extend, so will our support,” added Dr Harshit. Coronoa virus has claimed over 30,000 lives throughout the world, forcing governments worldwide to take unprecedented measures, including lockdowns and curfews, to contain the spread of the disease.

Despite willing to provide credible scientific information about the drugs to the doctors, the pharma companies are unable to reach them out as the COVID-19 pandemic is pacing faster. In such a situation, the digital medium is the only way forward wherein Doceree has been doing a marvellous job, influencing the US Pharma marketing & advertising with its latest digital modules based on AI. This technology has the potential to bridge the gap between the pharma and the doctors, paving the way for the former to reach out to the latter.
