<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Delhi, 20th April2023 : All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA)</strong>, the apex institute of Ayurveda in India, an Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Ayush organised <strong>Shishyopanayana Samskara Programme</strong> programme for its 7<sup>th</sup> batch MD/MS and 3<sup>rd</sup> batch Ph.D scholars. The program was to induct the scholars in their respective specialties by the faculty and authorities.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Vd. Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari,</strong> <strong>Chairperson of NCISM (National Commission for Indian System of Medicine)</strong> was the Chief Guest for the programme. <strong>Dr B.S . Prasad, President of Board of Ayurveda, NCSIM</strong> was the guest of honor. The programme started with Dhanwantari Yagna in the morning. This was followed by Induction ceremony, comprising of orientation lecture by Dr. B.S.Prasad, who addressed the gathering regarding the Samskara Program prescribed by NCISM.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Addressing the gathering, <strong>Prof. Tanuja M. Nesari, Director, AIIA</strong> said, “It is a great honour to welcome Vd. Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari, Chairperson of NCISM and Dr B.S . Prasad, President of Board of Ayurveda, NCSIM. AIIA is one of best institutes in India and is owned by Ministry of Ayush, the institute was dedicated to the Nation in October 2017 by Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. With a committed team, we are able to treat 15 lakhs patients within six years.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>A total of 76 PG and 29 Ph.D scholars have been admitted to the Institute.</strong> The batch has very first PG scholar from Ladakh to study Ayurveda at nation premier institute.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The scholars were also blessed by the faculty, dean, director and the eminent guests with Tilak, tying of sacred thread and gifting a book to them.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Congratulating the scholars, Vd. Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari, said “Ayurveda remains contemporary. It is like a flowing river that can never be historic. Now by holding the hands of technology, Ayurveda has advanced. By doing masters in Ayurveda, you all can study the subject in greater details, it will make you all specialist also it will increase your employment opportunities. Ayurveda is a progressive unfoldment of knowledge that offers successes anywhere we go.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The senior scholars of the institute also shared their experiences and opinions about their own journey in the field as research scholars. A Shishyopanayan oath was also given by Prof. Anand More, Dean, Academics and all the scholars recited the oath. The program ended with vote of thanks offered by Prof. Mahesh Vyas, Dean, PhD, followed by a group photograph.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>New Delhi, 1<sup>st</sup> July 2022</strong>: Recognising her contribution towards furthering the growth of Ayurveda in India and abroad, the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences (ITSappg) conferred the prestigious Ayurveda Ratna award on <strong>Dr Tanuja Nesari, Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA)</strong>, an autonomous organisation under Ministry of Ayush.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dr Nesari has been honoured for her exceptional service of the highest order for the promotion of Ayurveda by an ITSappg committee represented by dignitaries including Amarjeet S. Bhamra, Ambassador for Ayurveda and Yoga in Great Britain; Virendra Sharma, MP, UK Parliament and Chair, ITSappg; and Bob Blackman, MP, UK Parliament and Chair, ITSappg.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences was formed in 2014 with an aim to spread the knowledge of Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Vastu, Unani and Sangeetam in United Kingdom and abroad. Its mission is to expand and integrate Medical Pluralism in the National Health Service. It works closely with appropriate government and civil society bodies in the UK, EU, and globally to share best practices. ITSappg is working on a book that will serve as an introductory guide to Indian Traditional Sciences for parliamentarians and would also have contribution from the Ministry of Ayush. <strong>It is dedicated to encouraging research in the UK and recently concluded a research on Ashwagandha.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Dr Tanuja Nesari, Director, AIIA, </strong>said, “I am humbled and honoured to accept this award from the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences. For me, it represents not only a privilege, but a responsibility that I have been bestowed with. It reinforces my belief in Ayurveda’s ability to touch the lives of people across the world and promote holistic healing in sync with nature. All India institute has associated with London School of Hygiene for doing a research on Ashwagandha.  Today, Ayurveda as medicine is gaining momentum and I am thankful to our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji and Ministry of Ayush for giving thrust to this sector and making it global. It is a moment of pride for me and the entire Ayurveda fraternity.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The award was presented to the director at a virtual ceremony on the International Day of Yoga. The European Parliament every year celebrates the International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2022.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has added two new courses to its curriculum for academic year 2022-23 — <strong>Ayurveda Dietician Course, and Ayurveda Ahara &amp; Poshana Sahayak Course.</strong> The courses have been launched by the <strong>Swasthritta Department to promote interdisciplinary Ayurveda studies and are affiliated with the Health Sector Skill Council (HSSC) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Ayurveda Dietician Course is a specialisation program for professionals with a BAMS degree and is aimed at meeting the rising demand for specialised practitioners in Ayurvedic hospitals and medical centres. On the other hand, the Ayurveda Ahara &amp; Poshana Sahayak Course is open for high school passouts seeking a career as Ayurvedic diet assistants. There is a lot of demand for such professionals at health resorts, wellness centres and hospitals.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ayurveda, a widely accepted traditional medicine system, lays great emphasis on <strong>Ahara (food), which is believed to be the most important factor for sustenance of life.</strong> Ayurveda Ahara, or Pathya Ahara, is an integral part of Ayurveda treatment that has gained global popularity in recent years.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“Diet plays a very important role in Ayurveda. It supports the body’s healing process and accelerates the creation and reconstruction of vital cells. Several common diseases such as gastrointestinal ailments are directly influenced by the food we consume. That’s why, Ayurveda lays strong emphasis on identifying the right foods for the body. In the last few years, the demand for diet assistants and experts in the field of Ayurveda has been growing, and hence, the new courses will help ayurveda professionals get jobs in hospitals, health resorts and wellness centers within India and abroad,” said <strong>Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Manoj Nesari, Director, AIIA.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Both the courses are for a duration of six months and candidates will be selected based on an entrance test. The institute has invited applications from the eligible candidates in prescribed format which can be downloaded along with other details from its website <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="http://www.aiia.gov.in" target="_blank" rel="noopener">www.aiia.gov.in</a>.</strong></span> <strong>The last date for submission is 31 March 2022.</strong></p>
