Cooking tips

  • cooking tipsTo prevent breaking of fries and cutlets while frying, add some bread soaked in a little water or milk and then squeezed to dryness for good binding. The same thing can be used in the stuffing for parathas, bhurjis, etc.
  • Marinating the meat for hour or so in beer tenderizes the meat and enriches the taste.
  • Fluffier puris can be obtained by mixing a little milk with the dough while kneading.
  • For ice crystal-free ice-creams, beat the half-frozen ice-cream and refreeze till done. Repeat the process if required.
  • Make fluffier omlettes by adding gram flour while beating the eggs.
  • Coating the fish pieces, before frying, with rice flour will prevent the fish from sticking to the pan

  • While painting the house, smear the edges of the windows and glass panes with petroleum jelly to prevent the paint from dripping down that part and leaving awful stains.
  • Make flowers in a vase stand erect. Fill the vase with water and cover the top with an aluminium foil with holes (using pencils) and pass the stem through that flower.
  • During summer and dry days arrange the flowers in porcelain or stone vases instead of metal vases for long-lasting freshness in the flower.
  • Keep the dusty artificial flowers in paper bag with a handful of salt and shake well and get fresh looking flowers again.
  • Preserve the freshness of certain flowers, burn the ends of the stalks before arranging them in the vase.
  • Fresh flowers can be made to last longer by adding some charcoal pieces in the water in the vase.
  • Dye stains on the skin can be easily taken out by rubbing with the incense sick ash and a little water.
  • Accidental nail chipping can be managed by rubbing the nail against the sides of a matchbox but remembers to wash your hands properly as it is poisonous.
  • A great space saving idea is to enclose the flush and the geyser in a long stretch cabinet. The in between space can be utilized for keeping cleaning equipments and other detergents.
